Managing your disease
Being involved in managing the disease—whether it is taking a medication or carrying out dialysis—gives people a sense of control over their disease.
- Make sure you keep all your appointments or rearrange them promptly if you have to cancel.
- Make sure you keep note of any changes you notice in between appointments so you can tell your doctor or Dialysis center when you see them.
- If you are expecting to hear back from your doctor or Dialysis center with details of a test result or an appointment, ask when you are likely to hear from them, and call them to follow-up if you do not receive the information in the timeframe given.
